i’m sure that most of you have heard that red wine can be good for you because of a little chemical in it that some scientists believe can compete with natural aging…well, some Harvard scientists got together, made a molecule to mimic this special ingredient of red wine and started doing testing on mice…check out their results
if you’re not too inclined on the science terminology, here is the abbreviated version: the synthetic molecule created by Harvard researchers did not extend the life of treated fat mice (which are fat because of specific breeding + genetic modifications) compared to skinny mice, but extended their life compared to untreated fat mice…this is an interesting result because it indicates that this novel molecule could be prevent some processes of natural aging, which scientists could use to determine the processes involved in natural aging.
this is bleeding-edge stuff in the science world, so don’t expect anything to come of it soon, but understand that this could have drastic implications on all facets of society that we should start to consider…philosophers: step your game up
